Мне постоянно задают вопросы о Чемпионе Аллигаторе и семье, которая произошла от этого Великого старого война. Складывается впечатление, что чем больше говорят об Аллигаторе, тем больше остается недосказанным или по крайней мере незамеченным. Мистер Уильямс из форта Уорт получил суку по имени Сатин Леди (Williams' Satin Lady) от Мориса Карвера. Это была крупная, черная и красивая сука, о которой я заботился не меньше, чем о человеке. Many of us have read the depiction of the great "35" dog's 3rd match in Richard Stratton's book. I thought it might be interesting if Rushin Bill would elaborate some more on the life and times of that outstanding canine warrior of the 1980's and he has kindly consented to do so. When I first got into this game, I was told that if you could find a dog that could breath under water, bite like an alligator, and disregards pain, you would have an ace or should I say "Mongoose". I was fortunate enough to get him from my friend Havana Chico who had come into some unfortunate circumstances. To look at him you wouldn't think much. He'll lay on his back and play with puppies, let the birds drink water out of his bowl and in general live his life waiting for you to come home and scratch him behind the ear. But don't ever make him mad!

The black gets the first hold as Bozo gets skin hold in throat. Black is getting into the throat of Bozo as Bozo works the ear trying for a shoulder. 50 to 25 bets being made. Bozo the favorite. Black is showing good and working for Bozo's throat. All the dog fighting in the previous match is being wrapped up in a ten minute space of time in this fight. With Mr. Ed Crenshaw Part I

For many years I (Bill) have been aware of the tremendous contribution to our breed and our sport made by Mr. Ed Crenshaw.  In the sixties dogs of his breeding and those bred by others out of his bloodline were winning all across the country and were highly thought of and in great demand. Their ancestors are still having an influence on the breed today.

Unfortunately,as you will see, in some cases these dogs and therefor Mr. Crenshaw haven’t gotten the credit they deserve. Thanks to Mr. Crenshaw’s candidness in this interview some of that credit may now be properly assigned. While we cannot go back and change these dog’s pedigrees after all this time we can at least see what bloodlines they are really derived from and perhaps make more educated breeding choices.

It is perhaps impossible for modern dog people to realize the great reputation that Ferguson's Centipede enjoyed in the late 30s and early 40s. Perhaps it is sufficient to say that there was never any doubt that he was the best pit dog in the country at that time. Also, more than any other dog, he helped launch the popularity of the Old Family Red Nose strain, although he was more often referred to at the time as a "Lightner dog." At the beginning of his career, Centipede may not have been a unanimous choice for best dog in the country, as his ability was so great that it was not known if he was game. The first event of significance after arriving at the designated place for a dog match and after having carefully chosen a referee is getting the dogs on the scales and seeing where both dogs are at in relation to the contracted weight. The weigh-in. Many probably think of this as just a trivial formality in the matching of dogs. It isn't. What happens in this five minute period of time can be crucial to your dog's chances of winning this day and surviving to win another day and perhaps making a career in the brood pen as well.
